Hello and welcome to The Anglo South Tyrolean

How one Englishman tries to adapt to life in the South Tyrolean Alps.  Living the language, the food and the lack of a decent beer.  What could possibly go wrong?

Places to go and people to see

Mountain lakes, mountain passes.  Whatever takes you away from the hustle and bustle let this page help you find that place.

Take a hike, a bike ride or a pleasant walk. There is plenty to see and do, you will never tire of finding that spectacular view

Food places and what is good to eat

Whether you like pizza, pasta, spatzlen or Knödel, you can have the choice of two worlds.  You could also try the local ‘delicacy’, Speck, a form of cured pork.  Just don’t call it pancetta!

A delightful page about beverages.

Italy is home to some of the world’s most famous wines with some of the finest Italian wines available.  The local wines are not that bad either.  You will have to look to find a good beer, but most I have found and I know where to find them.

Paradise on Earth or just another day in paradise?

Like a pig in muck, an Englishman chasing the Speck through the mountains. How one Englishman survives living in a place fighting with its Italian side whilst maintaining the Tyrolean traditions
